IF YOU OWN/RUN A BUSINESS
You are the key to keeping our economy going. If the one-in-ten Oregonians who are currently out of work can't afford to buy your goods and services, your business may be in jeopardy.
The best thing you can do is give someone a job, or keep those on your payrolls employed.
Barring that, this is the place where we can get creative!
Think about what you can offer, how you can help your clientèle and potential clientèle who live on a maximum of $482/week.
Could you offer a discount for anyone showing proof they're on unemployment?
We will promote the heck out of your business if you do!
Could you get together with your vendors, clients, colleagues and join forces to help those without work?
(A printer could get their paper supplier to donate paper, a graphic designer to donate their time, and they could have a free resume day once a month, for example).
Collaborate, Dialog, and think about what you can do, what your business can do to help turn this economy around and help the unemployed.
IF YOU HAVE A JOB
You know how shaky things are right now.
Don't be scared, guilty, or nervous.
Be motivated!
There are lots of ways, simple, inexpensive ways you can help out your friends who are out of work. |
